Open Science Roadshow
It has been several years since the start of the replication crisis in psychology; the structural changes required to support a more rigorous science are starting to become embedded in the way we work as a mainly experimental psychology lab. Fred and Wendy are excited to introduce a novel part to the Research Methods training on the MSc Psychology course which will train our newest scientists in some aspects of Open Science principles. While a lot of our work is exploratory, we aim to internally replicated our experiments and are currently running preregistered internal replications of exploratory work with the triangle of coins insight problems and anagram solutions. Over the past month, Fred and Emma Henderson from the Psychology department at Kingston and Gaëlle Vallée-Tourangeau and Amélie Gourdon-Kanhukamwe from the Business School at Kingston toured multiple campuses delivering presentations to introduce to researchers to the problems faced by science researchers and some of the proposed solutions.
